The Umbrella Academy Season 4 teaser trailer hints powers will be back

The teaser trailer for The Umbrella Academy Season 4 is out. This is the final season of the series, and the teaser trailer certainly gives us some things to get excited about.

The third season ended with a new timeline. The Hargreeves siblings ended up in a world where they seemingly had no abilities. Other characters went missing, and it looked like Ben never died. Of course, that left us with a lot of questions for the fourth and final season.

The biggest question is whether the siblings will get their abilities back. The teaser trailer suggests so.

If you watch the teaser trailer for The Umbrella Academy Season 4, you’ll see that there is a moment where Five phases. This is his ability. Initially, he is able to phase to different places, but he figures out how to phase through time. It leads to him landing in the post-apocalyptic world in the first season, and then he goes back in time to try to prevent the future from happening.

Five couldn’t phase at the end of the third season. This would suggest that he and others are able to get their abilities back.

There is also another moment where Ben is seen with his octopus arms reaching out from behind him. If it was just Five, I could suggest that it’s a sign we’ll see more of Five’s past when he worked for the time traveling agency. With Ben also having his abilities, it looks like they all get them back.

The question is how. Hargreeves did something as the group got back to their own world (after landing in an alternate future in the third season) to remove their abilities. His wife is still alive and on Earth, and we didn’t see any signs of some of the other characters from the previous seasons.

Ben is in legal trouble, and the band gets back together

There’s another moment that stands out for me in the teaser. It’s all about Ben landing himself in prison. What exactly has gone on for that to happen?

Hargreeves seems to have set up a home for wayward boys instead of a home for the gifted students. This could suggest that Ben, Five, Luther, and others grew up in the system. They may have ended up finding their way to Hargreeves, which led to him taking them in.

Or maybe some of them didn’t. Maybe they are just wayward, and now Ben is witnessing the consequences of actions he doesn’t remember this version of him ever doing.

At one point, the siblings and Leila are together. There’s a cute moment where Leila and Five hug, which hints that she is finally doing the right thing and fighting the good fight. Ben is adorable with his comments, especially as they’re heading off to save someone.
