The Couple Next Door probably won't arrive on Starz in 2024 anymore

Outlander fans were certainly excited to see Sam Heughan land another show. The Couple Next Door is a six-part psychological thriller, and we’re ready to see it. In some great news, it’s coming to Starz.

This is where the good news ends. The series was originally slated for 2024. The show has even already aired in the UK, with the premiere happening in November 2023. And yet, we’re still waiting for the show on Starz in the United States.

What is going on? Well, that’s unclear. However, it’s looking more and more likely that this series is being pushed to 2025.

The Couple Next Door is coming “this winter”

There was a teaser trailer released during the summer. This told us that the show would arrive “this winter.” It didn’t say in “winter 2024,” which would usually be the case if that was the intended plan. It hints that Starz has pushed the release to 2025 but didn’t want to make that too clear at the time of the trailer.

Winter doesn’t start until the end of December—Outlander fans know all about the Winter Solstice. So, With that being around Christmas and New Year, it doesn’t make sense to bring a new show out around then. January is a good time of year to kick off new shows that miss the fall window, so January 2025 is more likely for The Couple Next Door.

The Couple Next Door could follow the Outlander Season 7 finale

There’s also the fact that Outlander Season 7B premieres on Friday, Nov. 22. With eight episodes, and likely a week break in the schedule, we’re looking at the finale airing on Friday, Jan. 17.

It would make sense to run The Couple Next Door straight after the Outlander Season 7 finale. That could either be the week of the finale to keep people tuned in, or it could be the following week. That puts The Couple Next Door premiere at around Friday, Jan. 24 if it doesn’t air the same week as the finale.

This is going to be disappointing if it happens, especially considering it was in summer 2022 that we learned The Couple Next Door was supposed to arrive in 2024. It does make us question other release windows, especially for the likes of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which is slated to arrive in 2025.
