Move onto The Gilded Age

If it’s the time period that catches your attention, you’ll want to turn to a show that is set around the same time. Now is the time to turn your attention to The Gilded Age, which was recently renewed for a third season.

The Buccaneers takes a look at the battle between old money and new money. Well, that’s exactly what The Gilded Age takes a look at. This time, everything is in New York City, where you’d be surprised by the way “old money” looked down on others. After all, all Americans are from new money to the British. There’s also some romance thrown in and women daring to be not what society says they should be.

The Gilded Age is available to stream on Max.

Check out Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

Next up is a limited series over on Netflix. This one takes a look at the life of Queen Charlotte as she fell in love with King George III. It’s easy to overlook the heartache for Charlotte. It wasn’t common for royals to marry for love, but these two ended up doing so. At least, in this series they do. But Charlotte has to deal with George’s declining mental health.

This is a prequel story to Bridgerton. There are also elements of the story set during the time period of Bridgerton, so you’ll want to add that to your watchlist at the same time. This romance series brings us a look at women marrying for money rather than love and others defying expectations in search of love as well as money.

Queen Charlotte and Bridgerton are on Netflix.
