It’s one and done for My Lady Jane on Prime Video. Amazon has decided to cancel the series, and now fans are looking for a way to fill the void.

This is an alternate history series with a fantasy mix to it. There are a few genres to pull from because of this, which means there are plenty of shows out there that will help to give the same feeling to it. You just need to decide which element of the show is more important for you.

5 must-watch shows for fans of My Lady Jane

The Man in the High Castle

If you love the alternate history element mixed with some fantasy, then you’ll want to turn your attention to The Man in the High Castle. This series starts out as an alt history series. What if the Axis powers won World War II?

It turns into something more sci-fi, though. It turns out that there are other alternate worlds, and items from various worlds turn up in this one. Various characters go on a journey to figure out these worlds so that they can get to the place they would prefer to be in.

The Man in the High Castle is on Prime Video.

The White Queen

What about the historical fiction side of things? If that’s what you love about My Lady Jane, then you need to turn to The White Queen. This is based on three books by Philippa Gregory, and it takes us through the time of the Wars of the Roses in real history. We follow Elizabeth Woodville, Margaret Beaufort, and Anne Neville.

There is an element of alt history to it. This is Gregory’s version of events, especially when it comes to one of the Princes in the Tower.

There are continuations to this series. Look out for The White Princess and The Spanish Princess. All of these shows are on Starz.

The Great

If you loved the satire part of My Lady Jane, then you’ll want to turn to The Great. This series follows the life of Catherine the Great after her marriage to the Russian Emperor, Peter. However, it doesn’t quite follow real history, taking on more of a comedic element of things at the time.

The series ran for three seasons and was abruptly canceled. However, the three seasons are mightily entertaining, and there is some sort of closure for some storylines by the end of Season 3.

Watch The Great on Hulu.

The Artful Dodger

Thomas Brodie-Sanster stars as Jack Hawkins in The Artful Dodger. Like My Lady Jane, this story is an adaptation of a novel. It’s the sequel to Oliver Twist, and follows the titular character who we came to know as a rather questionable and abusive man in Oliver Twist.

Jack is now living in Australia in the 1850s. He tried to leave the life of thievery behind and became a surgeon. However, he’s forced back into the criminal underworld. The story is a great mix of genres with some fourth-wall breaking.

Watch The Artful Dodger on Hulu.

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story

I would also say Bridgerton is worth a watch, but Queen Charlotte is the place to start. This is a one-season limited series, and it leaves everyone wanting more. We get to see the love story of Queen Charlotte and King George III. There’s the tale of George’s madness, and the way Charlotte loved him through it all.

There are elements that are dramatized, but a lot of the story tries to stick to real history when it comes to the love story. This is filled with the romance that we get from Jane and Guildford throughout My Lady Jane.
