Sometimes, we just need a little bit of fun. We get that by imagining the characters outside of their usual situations. Puppy Bowl 2024 is almost here, and I can’t help but wonder how Rollo would do in the event.
Puppy Bowl happens during the day on Super Bowl Sunday. Pups from animal shelters across the United States have a chance to play around with toys and score touchdowns for their teams. There’s also a focus on some of the disabled pups out there. The aim is to raise awareness of the puppies that are in shelters and need adopting.
Now yes, Rollo is no longer a puppy in the world of Outlander. He once was, though. Would he have played fair? Would he have ended up with penalties?
Rollo would probably get penalties for roughing other players in Puppy Bowl
Let’s be honest, as great as Rollo is, this probably wouldn’t be the best thing for him. I could see our wolf-Irish wolfhound cross getting a few penalties called on him. There is sure to be something about roughing some of the other players on the field. There may even be some penalties for holding.
That being said, he would be great for his team when it came to getting the toy into the end zone. He’d certainly score at least one touchdown, as long as his head was in the game. He might decide that chewing up the toy is a better idea, though.
We didn’t really get to know Rollo when he was a pup. It’s no clear how old he is when Young Ian wins possession of him in Outlander Season 4/Drums of Autumn. He is fairly laid back, but that could be due to Young Ian’s personality. They do say dogs take after their owners. Was he a bit rougher when he was a pup giving into more of his wolf instincts?
One thing that is certain, he would probably get mighty protective of some of the smaller pups on the field. Just look at how protective he is of Young Ian and the Frasers.
Puppy Bowl 2024 takes place on Sunday, Feb. 11 at 2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT on Animal Planet, Discovery+, TBS, and TNT.
