Outlander Season 7B could pair well with Mary & George

Mary & George premieres on STARZ on Friday, April 5. We think Outlander Season 7B would work really well in the hour slot before it.

STARZ released the trailer for a new period drama Mary & George. It will premiere on Friday, April 5, which for some may lead to the fear that Outlander Season 7B won’t premiere in April after all.

April has been the suggested release month for a while. However, it is still possible that the show could return around this point. In fact, we think the two shows would work very well together.

Let’s just point out that two hours of content could easily work in the STARZ schedule on Fridays. Mary & George is set to take the 9 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. That leaves the first hour open for Outlander, and it would be the perfect lead-in for the new series.

New shows need a strong lead-in making Outlander Season 7B perfect

Mary & George is a limited series. The need for a strong audience to secure a renewal isn’t that big. However, STARZ is still going to want to see that there is value in this series. If there is an interest in this type of show, more will be ordered by STARZ.

So, pairing it with a strong show is important. What better show than Outlander? This is one of the strongest shows and connects to a similar audience that would be interested in Mary & George. Both are period dramas, after all.

It’s not clear how long the finale episode will be. It’s possible that the Outlander Season 7B finale will be slightly longer. We’ve seen it happen with finales in the past. Pairing with Mary & George would be perfect. There are only seven episodes in Mary & George, meaning that the final week would work well for a longer finale if needed.
