As much as we’re used to Droughtlanders, it doesn’t mean we have to like them. The wait for Outlander Season 7B continues.

While we will get new episodes at some point this year, we don’t have a season yet, let alone a month or premiere date! So, we’re trying to get through Droughtlander as best as possible. That means turning to other shows to help us with the wait.

One of the great things about the wait is that there are plenty of period dramas out there to check out. Some are set in the UK, while others tell us the story of the Chinese coming over to America. Then there are stories of finding love and those of figuring out how to rule a country.

Poldark

Let’s start with a series that brings us romance and action. Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson star as Captain Ross Poldark and Demelza in Poldark. Ross returns home from fighting in the Revolutionary War, only to find out that his true love, Elizabeth, is now in the arms of his cousin. When he meets a scullery Maid, Demelza, he doesn’t expect to feel anything. Instead, it starts a love story for the two of them.

The series focuses on life in Britain after the end of the Revolutionary War. What was the country like following the loss of the Colonies, and the taxes that came from there? What trouble did the Crown experience, and what would it mean for soldiers who fought over there?
