Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter certainly pushes some plotlines forward. It’s clear that everyone is going to converge at some point, but it’s not clear how that is going to happen just yet. We know at the end of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone that William turns to Jamie for help with John, but that pushes us into the 10th book.

I think there’s also a bit of foreshadowing that Bree’s heart is going to fix itself. The heart problem that she has could go away with the birth of another child. Funny how her heart isn’t as bad now that she’s pregnant.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I don’t see all of this chapter being used. I just don’t see Hal and John’s storyline being as big in the series, so I don’t think we’ll see the letter or everything that has come before it. However, there is a part of the chapter that I do suspect that we’ll see.

I’m sure we’ll find out that Bree is pregnant again. I think the heart storyline will play out as it will bring up whether Bree and Roger need to travel again and whether it is safe. It can lead to their family growing and them making it clear that they are remaining in the past for good now.

There’s just so little time in Outlander Season 8 to tell the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone story and wrap everything up. The writers will need to be picky about what to include and how to do it.
