Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter
This chapter certainly answers a question from earlier in the book. Ben isn’t dead. Now we have a lot more questions.
The chapter itself doesn’t foreshadow too much. It’s more about plot development. William needs to get some answers, and he gets far more drama than he expected when it came to finding Dottie. Sometimes, foreshadowing isn’t necessary. We just need to see where the plot is going clearly. It’s exciting to know that there are a lot of questions that will finally be answered.
Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter
It’s hard to say if any of this chapter will be used. I don’t think we’ll see William on a journey to get Dottie. We know there wasn’t time to include her in Outlander Season 7, and I doubt there will be time in the final season.
However, the Ben storyline does connect a little to Captain Richardson. I do wonder if we’ll get to see some of that in the final season. It would certainly give William something big to do, and it does eventually connect to Jamie and the overall plot. It’s possible to introduce Ben without needing to bring in Dottie and Hal, and I’d be okay with that due to the sake of time in a TV series.
