Outlander: Blood of My Blood saved an adorable casting announcement for Father's Day
There are some changes from book to show that Outlander fans adore. The biggest of those changes is Rupert and Angus being the comedic duo of the series. It was certainly a sad day when we lost Angus and then Rupert.
Well, it’s time to get them back. The benefit of a prequel series is that we can see younger versions of our favorite characters. And yes, Rupert and Angus are making a return. We learned this in an adorable casting announcement on Father’s Day 2024.
Stephen Walters and Grant O’Rourke announced their younger counterparts in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
While Starz has officially announced the casting for other younger members of the series, it was Stephen Walters and Grant O’Rourke who got the opportunity to announce their younger counterparts. This is due to who will play the two characters.
Irish Times reports that their sons will play the younger versions of their characters in Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The news was announced via the Outlander Facebook page, with a short video of Walters and O’Rourke introducing their sons Marlow and Louis respectively.
Yes, they are young. We’re getting child versions of Angus and Rupert, which does make a lot of sense. Look at how many years back the story is going. Angus and Rupert didn’t seem all that much older than Jamie Fraser when we met them. Jamie isn’t part of Outlander: Blood of My Blood, so it makes sense that Angus and Rupert are just children. We hope to see them get up to plenty of mischief.
There are still sure to be other casting announcements to be made. This was just the most adorable one for Father’s Day, and it was fun to hear how much fun Stephen and Grant are having while being proud of their boys.
