Outlander: Blood of My Blood casting: Who is Séamus McLean Ross?
Our eyes are certainly on Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The prequel series is in production, and we’re getting a lot of exciting casting news.
In the latest round of casting announcements, we learned that a young Colum MacKenzie is going to be played by Séamus McLean Ross. Now eyes are on who this young actor is. We want to see him perform to get an idea of what to expect as he takes on such an iconic role.
Colum was played by Gary Lewis in the mothership series. Ross certainly has some big shoes to fill, but so do many of the others recently announced for the prequel series.
Who is Séamus McLean Ross in Outlander: Blood of My Blood?
There isn’t a lot of work to base opinions on for this young actor. He only graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2022. His first appearance on screen is in an episode of Payback. Most of his work to date has been on the stage. Stage work isn’t easy, but it’s also not something that we can watch back as not everything is recorded.
In the casting announcement, Rebus is also mentioned as an on-screen debut. That’s not listed on his IMDb page. Could this be that he will be in Rebus, which stars Outlander’s Richard Rankin? There are still a lot of questions about that series considering Viaplay is pulling out of the UK market in terms of production.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood is the only other production listed. We’re excited to see what he can bring to the series. After all, it’s not going to be easy to step into a role that Gary Lewis has already made his own.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will come to STARZ.
