Outlander: Blood of My Blood has found its young Murtagh. Of course, Murtagh had to be part of the story, and it was always going to be interesting to see who would take over from Duncan Lacroix.
Well, Rory Alexander is stepping into the role. You may have also seen him listed as Rory Grant in some of his earlier work. Of course, you’ll want to know where you can watch him perform to get an idea as to what to expect as he fills these shoes.
Where have you seen Rory Alexander before Outlander: Blood of My Blood?
Alexander career started in 2017, according to his IMDb, with a short called Rhapsody. He had number of shorts until his role as Orsino in 12.
It was after that when his career took off a little more. He had a guest star role in Season 2 of Alex Rider, which is on Freevee and the third season is reportedly coming this year, and he voice Jack in the English version of Anxious People. He was also in an episode of Call the Midwife, so he has some period drama experience.
Probably his most notable role is as the driver of the Sex Pistols in the series Pistols in 2022. He also starred opposite Mark Rylance in Inland in a leading role, where he was long listed for a DIFA for Best Breakthrough Performance. Most recently, you can see him in Dark Windows and DarkGame.
It’s going to be interesting to see him take on the role of Young Murtagh. Duncan Lacroix embodied that role so well in the flagship series, and it’s never easy taking on a role of a younger counterpart. However, it needs to be done, especially with a younger actor taking on the role of Brian Fraser as well.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will come to STARZ.
