Netflix lands rights to Office Romance starring J. Lo

Jennifer Lopez is not letting her current divorce get in the way of making rom-com movies. She will star with Ted Lasso’s Brett Goldstein in Office Romance on Netflix.

There was a bidding war for this movie, with Netflix being the one to land the rights. Goldstein is also co-writing the movie with Joe Kelly.

Character roles available in Office Romance

Nothing is known about the movie according to the Deadline report. All we know right now is that there will be several character roles for actors to play. It’s still in the writing stages, despite there being such a huge bidding war for it.

Lopez and Goldstein are set to star opposite each other. With the title, it would suggest that they end up working together in an office and hook up together. The question is whether there will be a power imbalance, or whether we’ll see two people on the same level in their jobs.

It makes sense for Netflix to focus on the romance genre. Just look at the success with Bridgerton over the years. Despite Season 4 not set to arrive until 2026, fans are eager for any information about casting and storyline.

Netflix is also opting for a good call when it comes to Lopez's movies. She's recently had two big hits for Netflix with Atlas and The Mother. This is sure to be another one, especially for rom-com fans.

When could Office Romance come out?

Netflix hasn’t confirmed when we’ll see the movie. Considering it’s in the pre-production stage right now, we’re potentially looking at the end of 2025. Netflix could hold this one until February 2026. After all, wouldn’t it make a cute Valentine’s Day movie?
