Did Molly Cobb actually die in For All Mankind?
When it comes to For All Mankind, we’re used to saying goodbye to characters at the end of each season. In some cases, it’s right at the start of the seasons. The third season brought us two shocking deaths, with one of them being off-screen.
Molly Cobb was the off-screen death. After going blind due to the radiation on the moon, which she faced to save a life, she found a way to still work at NASA. Eventually she was let go, but she was called back in to help with the situation on Mars at the end of the third season. If it wasn’t for Molly, Ed wouldn’t have survived the landing back on Mars after saving his daughter and grandson.
Well, Molly was in the building as it exploded due to the terrorist attack. She was last seen walking back into the building to save more people, using her blindness as a superpower since she was used to walking around without being able to see.
Did For All Mankind really kill off Molly Cobb off-screen?
We always say that if you don’t see a death happen, it isn’t real. Well, that’s not the case with For All Mankind.
Sadly, Molly Cobb was killed in the building. It’s not exactly clear how, but the naming of the rebuilt space center made it clear that she lost her life saving others. The building is now named after Molly Cobb.
The show has moved onto the 1990s in Season 4. We only get caught up on some events through the clippings at the start of the season, which is how we found out what happened to Jimmy Stevens after his involvement in the terrorist attack. Wayne, Molly’s husband, hasn’t been seen in the season. Hopefully, he’s still alive and making the most of the paintings that Molly did as she searched for something to do after being let go from NASA.
For All Mankind is available to stream on Apple TV+.
