Matt B. Roberts teases THAT major storyline in Outlander Season 7B
There are a few storylines to come in Outlander Season 7B from An Echo in the Bone. One of those is a major one that involves Claire Fraser, and book fans are excited to see it all play out.

In a recent fall TV tease, Matt B. Roberts shared a little of what to expect in Outlander Season 7B. Part of it is linked to a particular storyline toward the end of An Echo in the Bone, which continues into Written in My Own Heart’s Blood.
Yes, we’re talking about Claire Fraser and Lord John Grey’s storyline to come.
Ships crossing and uncrossing in Outlander Season 7B?
Roberts talked about how the season will see ships crossing and uncrossing. With the series set in the 18th century, it could mean literal ships. After all, we know that Claire and Jamie are currently in Scotland, but there are many signs that show Claire gets back to America. To be honest, there are signs that Jamie does as well.
Before that can happen, there’s a major storyline with Lord John Grey. The “ships” crossing could be relationships as well.

"There’s going to be a lot of ships, and crossings, and maybe uncrossings. There’s going to be a lot of things that play out."
What happens between Claire and Lord John Grey in the Outlander books?
In the books, Claire and Young Ian head to America before Jamie. Jamie remains in Scotland with a dying Ian Murray and his sister, Jenny. Jamie and Jenny then make their way across to America at a later date.
Only, the ship that they’re supposed to be on sinks. Believed dead at sea, Claire and John are devastated. On top of that, Claire is considered a spy and could face trouble, so Lord John Grey marries her to protect her.
Jamie isn’t dead, though! He has to get back to America because he’s in that blue coat, remember. What happens when Jamie does return? Well, that is linked to Lord John Grey’s eye patch.
Outlander Season 7B premieres on Friday, Nov. 22 on Starz.
