What do you do when you don’t like a book that has been released? Why not start a band? That’s what is expected to happen in Interview with the Vampire Season 3.
Yes, AMC has renewed the series for a third season. It’s no longer going to be set in the past, but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep following it! It’s also based on a book, and the third season is based on Anne Rice's second book in the vampire series, The Vampire Lestat.
The third season picks up off the back of the second season finale. Louis has learned that Armand is not everything that he appeared to be, and now Louis is back with Lestat.
Lestat’s band in Interview with the Vampire Season 3
All we know about the third season right now is that Lestat is going to start a band. He is angry at the portrayal of him in the book that Daniel Molloy shared, and he wants to set the record straight. The best way to do that is to start a band and become a huge hit.
This may not be that surprising when we consider the way that Season 2 ended. Louis went to find Lestat in New Orleans, learning that Lestat was nothing like the vampire of the past. Lestat lived in a dilapidated house and fake-played the piano on a board of wood. Siri played the real song. As Lestat saw Louis, he explained that he was going on tour, but he would need to practice for another 50 years.
We’re sure to head back to the past in Interview with the Vampire Season 3, though. The last we saw of Lestat, we learned that he was actually the one to save Louis in the trial in Paris—a trial Armand had orchestrated and run! We don’t know what happened to him from then to this point in New Orleans, and Season 3 is sure to reveal all. We need to understand how Lestat became a shell of the vampire he once was.
