Geillis and Dougal share a moment in Outlander Season 7B photos

There are some great new photos of Outlander Season 7B, and they give us a look at some of the character returns. We knew Dougal and Geillis would be back, and now we get our first look at them.

Coming into Outlander Season 7, we learned that there were a few returning faces. Graham McTavish and Lotte Verbeek would return as Dougal and Geillis, leading to a lot of questions about how that was possible from the non-book fans.

Well, we have an idea based on the way Outlander Season 7A ended. The new images also give us a clue. After all, Dougal and Geillis are definitely dressed in the clothing they wore when we first saw them.

We’ll get to see Dougal and Geillis together in the new season. It’s not clear from the image tags as to when this moment takes place. Some of the other images have been clear as to which episodes they would take place in.

With the look the two share, it looks like it is the earlier point of their courtship. As fans know, Dougal and Geillis were having an affair. Geillis married Arthur Duncan to get ahead when she came through the stones and moved to Cransmuir. That was her way to push forward the support for the Jacobite cause.

Dougal wanted the Jacobites to win. It’s not surprising, then, that the two formed a connection based on that.

There is another shot of Verbeek as Geillis from the newly released images. This doesn’t tell us a lot about what’s going on, but she is in a house and she certainly looks shocked. Could this be Dougal MacKenzie showing up on her doorstep?

With the fact that Geillis and Dougal are both dead in the series, this has to take place pre-1745. So, that would suggest that Roger and Buck don’t end up in the 1770s when they go through the stones. Could Geillis’s shocked reaction be linked to seeing Roger and Buck—with Roger knowing that Geillis is a time traveler, maybe he could even be open about what he’s doing in the past.

Of course, we can look at the books to get an idea of what’s going on. However, we want to keep this post non-book reader safe. We’ll be sure to bring spoiler-filled posts based on the books soon.
