5 fantasy shows to check out while you wait for Outlander Season 7B
A Discovery of Witches is just one fantasy show to watch during Droughtlander
Time travel, the ability to heal magically, and necklaces that show if something is poisoned all have one thing in common. They are all elements of fantasy. So, it makes sense that while you wait for Outlander Season 7B, you’ll want to turn to the world of fantasy.
This is a huge genre. It would be hard to cover everything in one post. Outlander is considered low-fantasy, as there are real-world elements thrown into the series. So, we’ll stick to that for the purpose of this post. We can always go into high fantasy at another time.
So, don’t expect The Lord of the Rings on this post. There are still some great fantasy series to check out in the break.
Start with A Discovery of Witches
A lot of Outlander book fans will have also read the All Souls trilogy. You may have even considered the series, especially when you learned Steven Cree was in it. Well, if you haven’t checked it out yet, now is the time to do so.
The series starts with a forbidden love story. Vampires and witches aren’t allowed to mix, and yet a centuries-old vampire falls for a witch who has abandoned her abilities and can’t control them. It all starts with her being able to find a particular book that could explain why the magical species are dying. Of course, all the magical creatures want it, and that puts Diana at harm.
So, our vampire Matthew decides to protect her. He has his own reasons as well, but he falls for her. They have an unexplainable bond. And so, they work together to get to the bottom of everything that is going on in the magical world, including a trip to the past to get a few answers.
