Vhagar has already had some big moments in House of the Dragon. There is more to come for the oldest and biggest dragon in Westeros.

Aemond Targaryen is not finished in his fight for his brother’s throne. Of course, he wants it for himself, relishing in being Prince Regent. It’s all coming to a screeching halt, though, as it turns out someone close to him is working against him.

Wherever Aemond goes, Vhagar will go. What does this mean for the she-dragon? We can take a look at Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin to see what’s in store.

Vhagar will meet the same end as Aemond in House of the Dragon Season 3

I think by the end of House of the Dragon Season 3, we will see the end of Aemond and Vhagar. It’s devastating for Vhagar, as all she is doing is following orders. She doesn’t have much of a choice when it comes to fighting her own.

To be fair, though, she is a grumpy old lady. We saw it at the end of House of the Dragon Season 1 when she stopped listening to Aemond’s commands and killed Arrax, Luc’s dragon. She is also a war dragon, showing no mercy to Meleys at Rook’s Rest.

There is one more big battle for Vhagar. That’s the Battle Above the God’s Eye, which will be against Daemon and Caraxes. Before that, Vhagar will go with Aemond to destroy the Black strongholds in the Riverlands.

Vhagar fights until the bitter end. She is able to rip Caraxes’s underbelly and take a wing arm off, but Caraxes fights back and tears at Vhagar’s throat. Caraxes is able to latch onto Vhagar’s neck, leading to both dragons crashing down into the water.

While Caraxes is able to get out of the water—although dies at the walls of Harrenhal—Vhagar ends up in the depths of the God’s Eye. As Helaena predicted, this is where Aemond dies. In the book, it is decades later when Vhagar and Aemond’s remains are pulled from the water. Aemond is still strapped to Vhagar.
