What to expect for Arch Bug in Outlander Season 7B based on the book
Arch Bug is a man on a mission of revenge. Will he get it in Outlander Season 7B?
We caught up with Arch at the very end of Outlander Season 7A. He found Rachel and commented on how she was looking after Rollo while Ian was away. This was all the information he needed to know that Ian had found someone he loved.
However, Young Ian is in Scotland. Will Arch get his revenge, or will we have to wait until Outlander Season 8 for that? We’ll take a look at the book storyline to get an idea, which does mean some spoilers for An Echo in the Bone.
Arch focuses on revenge throughout Outlander Book 7
During the seventh book, Young Ian does head to Scotland with Jamie and Claire. However, he doesn’t stay there for too long. We can tell from the images that Young Ian and Claire will head back to America in Outlander Season 7, Episode 10.
Yes, Young Ian makes it back, and this allows Arch to focus on revenge. Throughout the seventh book, he tends to be in the distance. Rachel can sense that he isn’t someone to trust, but she doesn’t know him. I hope to see some of this in Outlander Season 7B to sense the type of threat that he is.
Arch is sure to die in Outlander Season 7B
In the book, Arch does eventually get to Rachel. He threatens her life, and Young Ian is stuck. He wants to use violence to protect Rachel, but he has made her a promise not to be a violent man. What does he do, then?
It’s William in to save the day. This is actually something I forgot to include in William’s post about what to expect in the new season, although I did break down this moment when I noticed William was holding a pistol in a barn at someone. This someone is likely Arch Bug.
William likes Rachel. I’m not sure he loves her in the way that Young Ian does, but he likes her. He will do what he can to protect her, and that means taking Arch Bug’s life. I fully expect to see the Arch storyline wrapped up within the first few episodes of Outlander Season 7B.
