Will Cregan Stark be back in House of the Dragon Season 2?
House of the Dragon Season 2 opened with us heading to Winterfell and then The Wall. We got to meet Cregan Stark, and he certainly made an impression on fans.
Cregan made it clear that his family swore an oath to Rhaenyra. That is where they will stand in the Dance of the Dragons. He also made it clear that The Wall does more than protect Westeros from the weather and the Wildlings. It protects Westeros from Death, and House Stark needs to keep manning The Wall.
With 2000 Northmen heading to Dragonstone to help Rhaenyra, there are now questions about whether we’ll see more of Cregan Stark. There’s some bad news to start with.
Cregan Stark won’t return in House of the Dragon Season 2
Nerdist confirms that the House of the Dragon showrunners have said that Cregan Stark will not return. The opening moments of Season 2 was just a tease of what Cregan can bring to the story. It’s a look at who he is as the Lord of Winterfell, and the side that he stands on.
There is so much more going on in the world of Westeros right now, and there isn’t that much time in the series. There are just eight episodes to fit the story in, and we needed so many other major moments from the book. The Dance of the Dragons has only just begun, as well.
Cregan Stark does play a much bigger role in the Dance of the Dragons later on in the book. There’s a good chance that we’ll see more of his character in House of the Dragon Season 3, which we now know is officially happening. The showrunners haven’t confirmed that we will see him, though.
Bringing him back in could then allow another book storyline to happen. We could get to meet Sara Snow, who has a storyline with Jace in Fire & Blood.
