The wait for the new season of Bridgerton is almost over and with the season inching closer and closer, Netflix has finally gifted fans with the full-length trailer for the upcoming season! First, if you have a Polin fan in your life, go check on them because Netflix did not hold back in giving us plenty of amazing Polin teases in the season 3 trailer!

Our official season 3 trailer teases the upcoming evolution of Colin and Penelope’s relationship from friends to lovers, and it’s clear we’re in for quite an amazing season. Colin returns home and quickly begins turning heads after his glow-up which his brothers even jokingly address during a carriage ride calling their little brother “sturdy” as a nod to Colin’s transformation.

Although Colin might not be ready to seek a wife, he volunteers to help Penelope find a husband offering to serve as her wingman during the season. What starts innocently enough as Colin doing a favor to his friend, quickly spirals into something more as Colin begins to realize he might be developing romantic feelings for Penelope.

“Do you believe the best foundation for love is friendship,” Colin asks his mother at one point in the trailer clearly at a point in his journey when he’s coming to grips with his feelings for Penelope. But could it be too late by the time begins to see Pen as more than just a friend? Colin seems to do a bit too good of a job of helping Penelope make an impression on suitors as she catches the eye of a charming Lord Debling who becomes quite smitten with our favorite wallflower!

Eloise and Penelope are still on the outs in the Bridgerton season 3 trailer

While the Bridgerton season 3 trailer finds love beginning to blossom as Colin comes to terms with his feelings for Penelope, another important relationship within Penelope’s life is very much in jeopardy and we’re starting to worry if it’s reached a point of no return. We’re, of course, referring to Penelope’s friendship with Eloise as the trailer makes it very clear the two friends are very much still on the outs as the new season begins.

After finding out that Penelope is Lady Whistledown in the season 2 finale, Eloise lashed out at her friend, shaming her for her actions and calling her an insipid wallflower before vowing that she wished to never speak with or see Penelope again. We don’t quite know how much time has passed by the time season 3 begins but it appears that Eloise and Penelope are very much still on the outs as the new season begins.

At one point in the trailer, we see Eloise buddying up with Cressida Cowper as Penelope watches on from afar. Later she takes offense at the sheer idea that Colin might become romantically involved with Penelope with Eloise snidely telling Colin, “She’s not seeking a husband in you, I hope.”

Clearly, Penelope has a lot of work to do if she hopes to rebuild her friendship with Eloise and it’s going to be quite interesting to see the relationship between the two former besties become so icy in season 3. We can’t fault Eloise entirely for her behavior, but we definitely hope that she’ll warm back up to Penelope as the season progresses as her friendship with Penelope is one of our favorite relationships in the show and we’d hate to think that the pair aren’t able to bury the hatchet this season!

We’ll find out exactly what the future holds for Penelope and Eloise, as well as Penelope and Colin when Bridgerton Part 1 arrives on May 16 followed by the release of Part 2 on June 13.
