American Love Story is in the works, but little else is known

Back in 2021, FX announced that there would be more American Story shows coming from Ryan Murphy. One of those was titled American Love Story, adding a romance series to the mix.

Since then, we’ve barely heard anything about it. There has been focus on American Sports Story and another season of American Crime Story. Of course, there is plenty about American Horror Story, so what about this romance off-shoot of the franchise?

American Love Story is still in the works

Fans everywhere have wondered the same. It’s led to TVLine looking into the details, with confirmation that American Love Story is still happening.

The question now is when. We don’t have an answer to that, and the earliest we’re expecting it is in 2025. Of course, that’s highly unlikely considering there is no movement on the series other than that it’s still in development. We could be looking at 2026 and beyond.

Who Is the focus for American Love Story Season 1?

Like with Crime Story and Sports Story, the first season of this romance off-shoot will be based on some reality. It’s going back to the love story of John F. Kennedy Jr. and his sweeping true love story with Carolyn Bessette.

The story for the two of them was initially a beautiful union. JFK Jr. was considered royalty in America, and so the love story quickly gained headlines. With that came skeletons in closets, including rumored family discord and pressure on their careers.

Sadly, the love story ended in tragedy. The two were killed when JFK Jr.’s private plane crashed just off Massachusetts’s coast.

There has been no headway on the series as of yet, so it’s understandable that potential fans are questioning everything about it. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things since it is still reportedly in development.
