Photos moved smoothly in a fun way at The Gathering 2024

The photo ops are some of the favorite parts of a Sasnak City convention. The Gathering 2024 did not disappoint.

The photos are a popular part of any Sasnak City event. Some of them are included in tier packages and others are available to purchase. This offers a great chance to meet the cast and get some fun poses. Let’s take a look at how the photos worked out at The Gathering 2024.

The photos happen across the three days of the event. Friday has been for Fraser’s Ridge and Lallybroch to get their individual cast photos as well as the full cast photo. This year, Leoch was also invited along to get some of their individual photos completed. It helped to make the rest of the event go a little more smoothly.

Celeb Photos are the ones behind the photos

For the last few years, Sasnak City has hired Celeb Photos to do the professional shots. This is a company that offers photography for conventions around the country. There’s a small team that comes to the Sasnak City events, and at The Gathering 2024, we had two photographers, two members of staff helping with the organization, and one working on printing off the photos.

Yes, all the photos are printed during the event. You’ll get a glossy 8x10 shot straight away. There have been times that a fault has been spotted on some of the prints, and if that happens, Celeb Photos makes sure you get a good quality picture.

You can also get digital downloads. Go straight to the website and find your event. From there, you can put your digital code in that’s on the right side of your full print, so you have access to your photos and can easily put them up on social media. You can then print off as many copies as you want from home!

Choose your pose and smile at The Gathering 2024

The cast is usually up for some sort of pose at a Sasnak City event. The only rules are that you can’t ask to be lifted up and you can’t ask to kiss or for a kiss from the cast. These are fair and understandable rules. Asking for hugs or to pretend to dance is different. Just be sensible in your requests.

One of my favorite poses for the All Cast photo is a battle pose. This gives the actors a chance to think about their own ideas of going into battle, and it can lead to some hilarious shots.

Other favorites are the power pose, pretending to fight over characters, and the awkward prom pose. There are all sorts of ideas that you can do.

If you do have props, you’ll be asked to wait until the end of the photos. This allows everyone else to get through theirs as the prop photos can take a little extra time. Some props will also need to be checked for safety reasons.

It’s always best if you can explain your poses easily. One idea is to get a group of friends and strike the pose and take a photo of it. You can then quickly show the photo to the cast so they know what they’re doing.

Overall, the photos went smoothly. There were specific group shots called for each day of the event, with catch-up photos allowed on the last day. If you happened to miss any throughout the weekend, which is possible with meet and greets happening at the same time, then you need to listen in on Sunday to make sure you go to the photos at the right time.
