There’s a new series based on real events heading to BritBox. It’s all about My Lady, which will star an Outlander actor and a Tudors actor. This series is perfect for those who love fictionalized retellings involving Royal Family drama.
My Lady will follow the rise and fall of Jane Andrews, a former royal dresser to Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. You will know Andrews from her name in the papers in 2001, when she was accused and found guilty of murder.
Ed Speleers and Natalie Dormer attached to My Lady
Mia McKenna-Bruce will take on the role of Andrews, showing the rags to riches story. Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer will take on the role of the Duchess of York, which means that we’ll see plenty of screentime with her. After all, Andrews spent nine years working as a fashion aide to the Duchess of York, before she lost her job.
Outlander’s Ed Speleers is going to take on a slightly more sinister role. He’ll play Thomas Cressman in the four-part series. Thomas was the charismatic businessman that Andrews fell in love with, but as cracks formed in their relationship, it led to a disastrous end for both of them.
The series will also feature Philip Glenister, Sean Teale, Mark Stanley, and Claire Skinner. This is not a series to overlook.
When will My Lady come to BritBox?
As of right now, there is no word on the release. With casting already happened and production starting soon, there’s a good chance that we’ll get the series in 2026.
This is a joint production between BritBox and ITV, with the series heading to BritBox in the U.S. and Canada and on ITV1 and STV in the UK. Sony Television Pictures will be behind the international production.
We’ll be sure to keep an eye on this release. After all, it covers many interests within the period and Outlander spheres. Yes, as some of this will be set in the ‘90s, it’s technically a period drama. I don’t mean to make you feel old!
