It appears that there is no way out for Ellen MacKenzie in Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 8. At least, that’s what the images suggest.
At the end of Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 7, Ellen was delivered the devastating news. Her virtue was being questioned, and the Grants were demanding a test of her purity. Sure enough, Brian is going to learn about it, but will it be with enough time to get her out of Castle Leoch? Is that even an option?
Well, there are a handful of images out for the new episode, and things aren’t looking good for Ellen MacKenzie.
Ellen will need to face the test in Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 8
Ellen is in the great hall with Glenna just behind her in one of the images. It’s clear that Ellen has no choice. She will need to go through the ordeal, and there are many who will watch it all take place. The lighting is dark, setting the tone of the episode for Ellen.
The MacKenzie brothers and Ned are there, which makes sense. Colum is the laird, with Dougal being the war chief, so of course, they are going to be there to not just protect their sister, but also their clan. At this point, I think the clan is more important than their sister, though!
As we can see from the image above, Arch Bug and Malcolm Grant are also there. Malcolm is sure to be there to represent his father, as Outlander: Blood of My Blood has had to change things with Isaac Grant’s story. We get also see the elbow of Henry Beauchamp there, which makes sense, as he would be there as the Grants’ bladier.
Speaking of bladiers, Ned is in the image with the MacKenzie brothers, but he also gets an image of his own. He is the one really looking out for Ellen as well as the clan, just like Glenna. Hopefully, he’ll also be there as a friend of Henry. At ClaireandJamie.com, we’ve talked about how great their friendship is, but it’s time to see more of it in a useful way for both of them.
Simon and Brian have a moment together
Meanwhile, we get an image of Brian and Simon in Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 8. Simon is happy with the current situation, and he knows that Brian had made it all the better. After all, Ellen can’t possibly pass this test, can she? There’s no way to turn back time or grow the hymen back.
You can see the concern and anger Brian is feeling at the entire situation. He’s sure to rush off to Leoch after this, but does Simon want that? Havng a Fraser steal away a MacKenzie would certainly be a scandal, but probably not in the way that Simon would want.
