There is no doubt that we're ready for Outlander: Blood of My Blood. Droughtlander is hard, but this prequel series is going to help get us through the last one. Now we know when it will arrive.
STARZ already shared that the Outlander prequel spin-off would arrive in summer 2025. There were a couple of dates that we suggested would work well, and one of them stood out more than the other. It turns out that the streamer agrees with us!
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will arrive in August 2025
The official date is set for Friday, Aug. 8. This marks almost 11 years to the day that Outlander premiered. That series premiered on Aug. 9, 2014, so it makes the release of the prequel series feel a little more special.
The show will air at 8 p.m. ET/PT on the STARZ channel, but Sassenachs know that they can turn to the app to be able to watch sooner. Just like Outlander, this series will arrive on the STARZ App at midnight ET on the day of release.
Canadian viewers will need to wait a little longer, with the series set to air at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It's not exactly clear if that is on STARZ or on the W Network. STARZ doesn't have a channel in Canada, with all content going to the app. This is something I'll keep an eye on being located north of the border.
Episodes will air weekly, just like Outlander. There may be a break partway through the season as we're used to with a lot of STARZ shows.
What to expect in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
The series will take us back in time and bring us two love stories. The first is the one that you'd expect based on a novel that Diana Gabaldon is working on. We'll finally get to see Brian and Ellen's love story play out on our screens, and we'll learn just how much was romanticized by people as they retold the story.
The other story is that of Claire's parents. There is hope from some that it will mean fans finally get to learn which of Claire's parents could time travel and what really happened to them — many do not believe that Claire's parents died in a car accident.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood will premiere on Friday, Aug. 8 on STARZ.
