We certainly felt a bit of a change with Miss Scarlet season 5. It felt off without The Duke around, but the show did make it work. Alexander Blake brought in new energy to the series.
Now we have some bad news. There are likely no more episodes of Miss Scarlet in 2025. We don’t want to say none at all as we can’t tell the future, but it’s highly unlikely. After all, we usually get a season a year, right?
Miss Scarlet season 5 has come to an end
The most recent episode of the period drama was the season finale. That’s why it felt bigger than the other episodes. We got a much bigger issue than a local murder mystery. This episode involved Russian spies, British spies, and more.
We got to meet an intriguing character called The Governess. That’s surely not the last we’ve seen of her, right? Of course, we need more episodes to be able to see what else she can get involved in.
The ending did bring us some personal moments that we’ve waited all season for. The first was the marriage of Ivy and Mr. Potts. At one point, it wasn’t that clear if Ivy even wanted to marry Mr. Potts. When he gave her the out, she finally saw what she wanted and decided to set a date. That led to an enjoyable ending.
However, it left Eliza on her own. She wasn’t staying on her own for long. She took some cake around to Blake’s house for him and Sophia. Blake has realized his feelings for Eliza and he invited her in. This is a chance to see their personal relationship blossom as well as their professional one.
Will Miss Scarlet season 6 happen?
At the time of writing this, PBS hasn’t canceled or renewed Miss Scarlet. To be fair, this is a British series, and it will be up to the Brits to cancel or renew it first. That hasn’t happened, but we’re on the side of this being renewed.
It will just mean that we have to wait until next year for new episodes. There wouldn’t be time to get through all stages of production before 2025 is done, which is why we don’t expect any more episodes this year.
