When it comes to Henry’s break from reality, there is only one person who can help in Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The series has even set it up to make this a possibility.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6.
Henry Beauchamp is facing a break from reality in his grief. He’s learned that Julia and his unborn child have died, although we know that this isn’t true. While Julia finding him would help him, that’s not going to happen. For one, she doesn’t even know that Henry is in the past with her, but on top of that, Simon Fraser still has her trapped at Castle Leathers.
So, it turns to one other person who could help Henry Beauchamp. It’s all about Ned Gowan.

Ned Gowan is likely to learn about where Henry is in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
Let’s just start with the fact that Henry has headed to the brothel he and Ned would meet and discuss. In fact, this was the place Ned introduced Una to Henry, helping Henry with the search for Julia. While it didn’t turn into anything beneficial, Henry never blamed Ned for this.
So, if anyone was going to get a message about Henry’s current situation, it would be Ned. Una would want to make her girl and the room available for paying customers, and she’d want to make sure she gets money for Henry being there. Since she wouldn’t be able to easily kick Henry out, getting word to Ned would help.
This would allow Ned to learn about the lie Henry has been told. Naturally, Ned would believe it at first, but let’s just take a look at what’s to come.

Ned is sure to hear about Simon’s marriage to Julia
During Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 6, Simon shared that he and Julia would be married. He even used her full name, Julia Beauchamp, and he wants to make sure the news spreads. While Simon and Julia haven’t married yet, it’s sure to happen, and yes, this can legitimize a child.
This is something that Clan MacKenzie is sure to hear of, and because of that, Ned will hear about it. He’ll also hear of the baby that has been born, as Simon wants to shout it from the rooftops now that he believes he has the future King of Scotland.
Ned will have the news that Henry needs: he was lied to about Julia and the baby’s fate. While the problem isn’t fully solved as there is then the need to get Julia away from Castle Leathers, Ned is sure to be able to deliver Henry some good news to help him come back to reality and focus on finding Julia again.
