August is shaping up to be a great month for Netflix, as it lands another series fans of time-travel dramas will want to check out. The Quantum Leap revival is heading to the streaming platform.

Both seasons of the modern-day Quantum Leap series will head to Netflix. Sadly, the original series isn’t going to be available, as it would be fun to start from the very beginning and work our way through the entire story. Quantum Leap starring Raymond Lee was an official continuation of the original story.

When is Quantum Leap coming to Netflix?

The two seasons will arrive on Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 14. This is days after Outlander season 7A drops on the streaming platform after two long years of waiting! It’s going to be exciting for those who want to travel through different time periods.

Quantum Leap picks up 30 years after the events of the original series. Sam Beckett has never been found, and it looked like the project had been disbanded forever. Well, Dr. Ben Song has been working on the project with a few others, including Magic, who was in the original series (although played by a different actor).

When Ben thinks he’s figured out how to fix the leaping issue, he decides to head through time to test it out. However, this shocks everyone, and now they need to figure out what the plan was and who was working with him to figure out the change to Ziggy’s code.

Does it fix the leaping issue, or will Ben be forever trapped in time?

Could Netflix’s run help to save Quantum Leap?

It’s now likely too little, too late when it comes to saving the time-traveling drama. The show was canceled in 2024, so all cast options have completely expired now. The actors would need to be available and interested in keeping it going.

Of course, if the series was suddenly found by the right audience and performs well in the viewing numbers, it could be possible for a revival of the revival. After all, this is often what a show needs to make it clear that a network did the wrong thing, and it’s not like anyone left the series on bad terms. It’s just going to depend on current work.

This is one of those shows for fans of time-travel dramas, specifically ones that bring in a different time period in each season. Arguably, that’s what caused some of the problems due to cost, but it makes for wonderful storytelling.

Quantum Leap will be on Netflix on Thursday, Aug. 14.
