Inspector Blake had a rough night on Miss Scarlet season 6 episode 5, as he tried to prevent an attack to release Dylan Cooper. It didn’t take long to find out that there was a mole, but the identity of the mole may have surprised a few people.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from Miss Scarlet season 6 episode 5.
We knew that someone on the inside was probably helping Dylan Cooper get out. After all, someone would need to get the keys to get him out of his prison cell. So, it had to be someone we’d never met before, right? Well, it looks like Cooper had prepared for a lot more than being arrested.

Who was the mole on Miss Scarlet season 6 episode 5?
While the initial thought was on PC Murray, it turned out that Izzy Summers was the one behind the breakout attempt. She had been planted by Dylan Cooper at the very beginning of the season, and she happened to be there for the night shift when Cooper was supposed to be transferred to Newgate.
However, the initial reason for her being at Scotland Yard wasn’t to do with getting Cooper out of prison. Remember that she was there before Cooper was arrested, and the whole incident on Miss Scarlet season 6 episode 4 wasn’t supposed to happen. Cooper hadn’t even killed the guy, but he did come across as guilty.
So, why was she really there? Izzy explained that Cooper had planted her in Scotland Yard as a secretary to report back on anything that she had heard. This was a way for Cooper to know what was going on with the police, but she didn’t get the information that they were coming to arrest him so that he could get out of dodge. She wasn’t the best mole, it would seem.

Was Izzy’s relationship with Willows a lie on Miss Scarlet?
The bigger question for Willows would be whether he was being played by Izzy. The two immediately struck up an interest in each other during the Miss Scarlet season 6 premiere, and they quickly started dating. It looked cute, but it was too good to be true.
However, Izzy didn’t enter this relationship under false pretenses. It wasn’t to get information from Willows. At least, that’s what she said, and I do believe that. Maybe she thought that it could be a good idea, but I also think that she was genuinely interested in Willows. After all, he was the new boy in class, so he wouldn’t be trusted with a lot until he’d earned his place. It didn’t make sense to start a relationship with him when there were other, longer-standing members of the force around.
Miss Scarlet airs on Sundays at 8/7c on PBS.
