The world of Miss Scarlet and The Duke is seeing a major change. That change is reflected in the title of the series. It’s now only Miss Scarlet for season 5.

The Duke is gone, and the promo for the season reiterates that. He isn’t coming back from New York, and now Eliza will ened to figure out a new working relationship with the new detective inspector. That detective is not someone who wants to work with her, either.

There are six episodes to tell this season’s story. Let’s take a look at what to expect.

Eliza finds herself in legal trouble in Miss Scarlet season 5

The promo for the season highlights a few things that are about to happen. One of those is that Eliza will end up arrested for murder. We know that Eliza would never, so what sort of situation has she found herself in?

Something isn’t right in some sort of case that she’s working on. It doesn’t help that her work as a PI is going to get a little more difficult. Detective Inspector Alexander Blake is not interested in working with private investigators, and that means he will not entertain her. He doesn’t even seem to want a social call outside of work hours so that he can get to know her.

The first episode is going to introduce us to Alexander Blake, the new detective in town. He has some secrets that we’ll learn more about throughout the season. After all, this isn’t his first rodeo.

In the premiere episode, he is set to make a name for himself. He doesn’t want Eliza on the case of the missing lord who is wanted for murder. He thinks that he can work out the case himself, but we know Eliza. She isn’t just going to give up. My question is why doesn’t he want to use PIs. What has happened in the past from using them that makes him dislike them so much now?
