Eliza Scarlet has a difficult decision to make in the Miss Scarlet season 5 finale. Let’s take a look at what to expect in the episode.

When Eliza first found out why Blake doesn’t like working with private detectives, she promised that she was something different. She is one to trust, telling Blake everything he needs to know.

Of course, there are times when secrets need to be kept. When it comes to a conflict of interest, Eliza needs to make a choice.

Investigating the personal life of Police Commissioner Fitzroy in the Miss Scarlet season 5 finale

Eliza needs to investigate something in the personal life of Police Commissioner Fitzroy. The big question we have is what that something “personal” is. Is it possible that he’s doing something against the police force? Wouldn’t this be professional, though? I guess it could be personal if he is utilizing his professional level for personal gain.

Of course, most private detectives are now hired in cases of adultery. What are the chances that Fitzroy is having an affair? While that wouldn’t be completely out of the ordinary for men at the time, not all women would be happy and silent about their men playing away.

The problem is Eliza wants to continue getting work from Scotland Yard. If she goes up against the police commissioner, she could end up being black balled by him. Even if Blake ever decided to work with private detectives, she would find herself out of work.

Then there’s the fact that whatever she is investigating will be something not to tell Blake. She’s breaking her promise to him.

Take a look at the synopsis for the episode:

"Eliza faces a conflict of interest when she is hired to investigate the personal life of Police Commissioner Fitzroy."

In the previous two episodes, we saw some personal developments that we’re expecting to see in the Miss Scarlet season 5 finale. The first is Ivy’s wedding. We knew that it was happening on the 31st of the month, which means soon. Well, doesn’t it make sense to have something this big happen in the season finale?

Then there’s the fact that Blake and Eliza are getting closer. Blake has realized just how much Sophia looks up to Eliza. Is it time for him to ask her out for dinner? Is Eliza ready for that?

Miss Scarlet airs on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 8/7c on PBS.
