LAID cast includes Mrs. Maisel and The Flight Attendant vets
Hsu, who many will know from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, takes on the lead role in this comedy. She is Ruby, who has a high body count and now she needs to run through all of them to hopefully save their lives. All the while, she may want to figure out why they’re dying.
The Flight Attendant’s Zosia Mamet plays AJ, Ruby’s best friend, who heads out on this journey to find all of Ruby’s past lovers. AJ is the best friend you need in this situation. She puts together a full sex timeline for Ruby to figure out what’s going on!
Michael Angarano and Tommy Martinez make up the rest of the principal cast, with Andre Hyland, Olivia Holt, David Denman, Finneas O’Connell, Chloe Fineman, Ettore “Big E” Ewen, and John Early guest starring in episodes.
LAID synopsis
The series follows a woman who needs to track down her past lovers to hopefully save them. This could have been a traditional rom-com that made you fall in love with love again, but creators Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna decided they wanted to do something different.
With all the darkness in the world, they wanted to put a bit of a darker twist on rom-coms. This means don’t expect Ruby to get a happy ending by the end of the first season.
Take a look at the synopsis:
"A woman finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline to confront her past in order to move forward – “Laid” is a f*cked up rom-com where the answer to “why can’t I find love, is there something wrong with me?” is a resounding “Yes. There is. The problem is definitely you.”"
