Marie Antoinette season 2 has just started on PBS, and it already doesn’t disappoint. The season picks up with Antoinette and Louis at the height of their popularity. The French people love Antoinette, but when hardships arise, people forget about the good and focus on the bad.
It doesn’t help that there are people who love to manipulate those who are struggling. With the right words and the right bits of gossip, Provence, Chartres, and others are about to turn the tables on Antoinette and Louis.

The second season will have eight episodes, just like the first. This is a standard about of episodes for a series on PBS. It’s enough to tell a story without needing to fill in some of the storyline. After all, Marie Antoinette doesn’t have the case or monster of the week story format that the likes of NCIS and Supernatural do.
So far, there is no confirmation that there will be a third season. With the title of the finale, “The End of the Beginning,” it does seem like there will be more to the tale. Of course, this is a series that needs an actual ending since we know how the story ends for Antoinette and Louis.
