We all know the ill-fated story of Marie Antoinette. It makes the series so thrilling, though, as we get to see a dramatized story of what happened in the French court. Marie Antoinette season 2 will premiere this month, and you won’t want to miss out.
While we all know how the story will end, that doesn’t mean Marie Antoinette was the biggest villain of them all. Was it due to outside influence that she and her husband would end up with the people turning against them and executing? That’s something the series seems to be building to with the first season.
When will Marie Antoinette season 2 premiere on PBS?
There isn’t long left to wait for the second season of the period drama. Marie Antoinette season 2 will premiere on Sunday, March 23. It’s a late one on Sunday nights, as it airs at 10/9c on PBS. It will be available on PBS.org the day after.
Episodes will air weekly on Sundays. The finale date is set for Sunday, May 11.

What to expect in Marie Antoinette season 2
The first season saw Marie Antoinette’s arrival at the Palace of Versailles. She’s miles from home and only a teenager. It seems a little unfair that she’s thrust into the world of French royalty, and it certainly led to some issues along the way.
However, she navigated the ups and downs. That means collecting enemies as well as friends. As she emerged as the Queen of France, she also faced grief in the loss of her mother. The second season picks up off the back of that, as the enemies of the French Queen dig their claws in and find a way to topple the regime.
Marie Antoinette isn’t the only one with enemies. Her husband, Louis, also needs to face his own challenges. The two will need to work together if they want to survive. Of course, outside, the revolts continue, and it’s only a matter of time before we catch up with their real end in history.
