Henry Beauchamp continues to search for Julia in Blood of My Blood. She’s so close at Castle Leathers, but nobody knows that Simon Fraser has taken on another maid.

However, the situation is dire for Julia, as she’s pregnant with Henry’s child. Davina has made it clear that Julia needs to terminate the pregnancy herself, or Simon will end up doing away with the baby. So, Julia is having to take steps to protect herself and her unborn child, and she has to hope that Henry will understand and forgive.

Julia needs to make Simon think the baby is his in Blood of My Blood

As Julia and Davina talked, Julia learned that Brian isn’t just Davina’s son. He is also the son of Simon Fraser, and that makes it clear to Julia why Simon allowed the baby to live. Simon didn’t care that this boy was illegitimate, as it would offer him some sort of power and potential.

This is Julia’s opening to keep her baby and keep that baby safe. She knows that Simon is interested in her, so she can make him think that the baby is his. She’ll have to hope that Davina doesn’t say anything, but then Davina doesn’t exactly have any proof yet that Julia is pregnant. There’s speculation, but is she really going to risk Julia’s life by revealing that?

The end of Blood of My Blood season 1, episode 3 saw Julia make the decision to go to Simon’s bed. It’s time to enact her plan.

Henry will find himself in a similar position to Jamie in Outlander

During Outlander season 7, we saw Claire had to make a decision to protect herself by marrying Lord John Grey. When Jamie returned—making it clear that he wasn’t dead at all—things couldn’t just return to normal. Jamie had to deal with the fact that not only did John and Claire marry, but that they were also intimate.

In the end, Jamie was able to forgive Claire, although he forgave her in a possessive way. He knew that Claire had to do things to survive, and he couldn’t blame her for that.

Now Henry is going to find himself in a similar situation. When he finally reunites with Julia, he has to learn that Julia slept with Simon. How else was she to make him believe that he was the father of the unborn child? Will Henry be able to forgive Julia for that, though? Will he understand that she had to do something unimaginable to survive?

The Henry that we’ve come to know should, but he is also a man of his word. He hasn’t taken another woman to his bed, but then there’s no need to. Everyone knows he’s looking for someone in particular, as he’s made that no secret. Plus, he wouldn’t have to do something like that to survive.

The question is going to be when it comes to the knowledge of the pregnancy. Will Henry believe Julia that the baby is really his, and can he deal with the questions of the legitimacy of the child in the past? This entire situation is setting up for some heartbreak, drama, and difficulties.

Blood of My Blood airs on Fridays on STARZ.
