We’re heading into 1970 in Call the Midwife season 14. It’s hard to believe that we’re out of the Swinging Sixties. A lot has changed over the last decade, and now the midwives and people of Poplar are about to see a lot more change and growth for women.
When will Call the Midwife season 14 premiere on PBS?
The new season will arrive later this month. The Call the Midwife season 14 premiere airs on Sunday, March 30 at 8/7c. Don’t forget that we have Marie Antoinette season 2 on at 10/9c as well! There is also something period related in the middle slot. Wolf Hall: The Mirror and Light will premiere on Sunday, March 23, with a new episode airing on March 30.
The new season has already aired in full in the UK, so you’ll want to watch out for spoilers if you decide to search for anything online. There is no word on whether there will be a 15th season just yet, but there are teases that it will happen. Radio Times has an update, but keep in mind that there are spoilers for season 14.
What to expect in Call the Midwife when it returns
Nonnatus House will continue to tackle the many problems affecting the people around them. There are challenges like poor housing and poverty, but there is something a little more unusual for the nuns and midwives this season. There seems to be a case of an immaculate conception.
Meanwhile, chaos unfolds when there are activists on the Isle of Dogs. They want to block access to the Isle of dogs in an attempt to gain independence, and that’s going to cause issues for Dr. Turner and the midwives. Together they will need to keep everything running as smoothly as possible for everyone else.
How will the midwives and nuns handle the changes that the 1970s bring? What happens as more people turn away from the Catholic Church? It’s time to see it all unfold throughout this season.
