We come to the end of another season of Call the Midwife. Yes, that end is tomorrow, Sunday, May 18. Of course, while eyes are on whether there will be more to the story, we need to know what to expect in the Call the Midwife season 14 finale.
This episode picks up a storyline from earlier in the season. Nancy is back, and she's getting married. The last we saw, she shared that she was leaving for a new job but she would host her wedding in Poplar. She would want it nowhere else, surrounded by the people she called family for so long.
What to expect in the Call the Midwife season 14 finale
Yes, the finale will bring us the wedding. At least, we hope it will. It turns out that things go a little awry, but we know that Trixie, Rosalind, and others aren't going to let Nancy's wedding go completely wrong. They will all find a way to make it a success.
Meanwhile, a Mother and Baby Home is evacuated. These homes were formed in England as a way to help mothers flee domestic abuse and for those struggling with financial hardship. However, there was a dark side to them, as many of these homes forced and coerced women to give up their children for adoption. Why is this Mother and Baby Home being evacuated? That's not clear just yet.
Meanwhile, Sister Catherine will take her first vows. This came up in the previous episode, with one of her sisters confirming that she will be there, even if the rest of the family doesn't attend. Will we see more of the family in attendance, as they realize that Sister Catherine has to follow her own path?

Will Call the Midwife season 15 happen?
There is some good news, as there will be a 15th season of the series. The show was renewed for two seasons off the back of season 13, and all the main cast members will return.
However, it could be some time before we see it. The series is looking to expand into spinoffs, and they may take precedence over the main series for now. We'll se sure to keep an eye on these plans.
Call the Midwife is available to stream on PBS Masterpiece.
