We can’t quite imagine Nonnatus House and Poplar without Nancy Corrigan, but it looks like we’ll need to in Call the Midwife season 14. The premiere opened with Nancy sharing that she has a job offer elsewhere, and while she turned it down the first time, she’s going to take the offer this time.
It’s a bittersweet moment for us as fans of Nancy. She came into the series in season 4, and she’s stuck around ever since, and what a growth she’s had! This is what makes the decision to leave so bittersweet, though, as we know that this is what’s right for Nancy as a character. It’s just a shame that it mean we won’t get to see the rest of the journey or her love with Roger.
When will Nancy leave in Call the Midwife season 14?
Megan Cusack talked to Radio Times back when the series aired in the UK, and that’s when she confirmed that she was leaving the series. However, Nancy doesn’t leave in the premiere episode, and it looks like she’ll stick around for a couple of episodes at least. Then she disappears, although it’s not clear if that’s the last we see of her or not.
One thing Cusack did share was that while Nancy is a career woman, it doesn’t mean she’ll stay away from Poplar for long. She already said the wedding to Roger was going to be there, so we’re presuming that she’d need to come back for that. The show has to give us that wedding right?
Well, it looks like that is the case based on what to expect in the Call the Midwife season 14 finale, and we can’t wait to get there! No spoilers for now, but we do have Nancy for much of season 14, but this is her exit storyline.
