Top 3 Bridgerton book 3 moments we don’t want to miss on screen

If fans have any say, there are a few key moments from the book that we just have to see in season 4.

The countdown is on for the season 4 premiere of Bridgerton, where we get to see Benedict and Sophia’s love story (Book 3) finally come to life on screen. Author, Julia Quinn, has so craftily weaved all the Bridgerton sibling stories together in her books, that watching the series before reading seems like a real faux pas!

Although showrunner, Shonda Rimes, hasn’t made any drastic changes to the original books so far, save adding some ethnic and racial diversity, and being more inclusive with LGBTQ characters, the books still give so much more detail and context than the show can provide. One thing I love about the series, though, is the wardrobe! From hair to make-up and beautiful gowns, the characters slay if nothing else!

Top 3 Bridgerton book 3 moments we hope to see this season

The Bridgerton Netflix series, vibrant and lively as it may be, can’t possibly cover every single moment from the Book 3: An Offer From a Gentleman, but there are some moments that really stood out, and would make for powerful scenes on camera. We hope to see them in season 4!

1. Violet claps back at Sophie's mom

Violet, or Lady Bridgerton, is one of my favorite characters for the way she is clearly ahead of her times when it comes to socially appropriate behavior. She supports her children wholeheartedly and consistently reinforces her desire to see them happily married — not married for money or status. It’s not just her position in the aristocracy that gives her the respect of the ‘ton, but her dedication to family and strong morals.

Violet has a few moments in book 3 that made my respect for her grow even more, especially when she discovers who Sophie’s mother is. Araminta is not a nice woman by any stretch of the imagination, including to her own daughters. Violet stops Ara’mean’ta right in her tracks at the end of book 3, as she attempts to have Sophie put in prison for stealing.

After uncovering some of Araminta’s fraudulent choices, Violet then blackmails her into disappearing in the most lady-like of manners (while still giving her a mouthful). Seeing Violet become mama bear for both Benedict and Sophie is so special because she’s normally so calm and proper.

2. Colin and Benedict spar for anger management

All of the Bridgerton siblings have a special family bond that makes everyone else in the ‘ton envious. No matter what happens, they are always there for each other. In Book 3, after Benedict finds out who Sophie really is, he gets extremely upset about her keeping the truth from him.

At the same time, Colin feels ashamed that Penelope caught him telling his family that he would never marry her (to his defense, this was before he fell in love with her, and his family kept pressing the issue). What I love about the scene, is that as the brothers ‘duel’ out their anger via sword sparring, they keep the mood light while still processing some major stress in their lives. They’re both able to give each other advice, and they’re both the better for it.

3. Posy stands up to her mother

It was Posy’s moment of courage at the end of Book 3 that helped free Sophie of the charges against her. Inspired by Lady Bridgerton, Posy finds the strength to stand up to Araminta, even when it means that she’ll likely be disowned.

I think Posy comes to the realization that she’s actually better off without her mother, and that she’s been drowning in mediocrity her whole life because of her mother’s grudge against Sophie and general mistreatment of other people. I’m excited to see how Posy handles her mother in the Netflix series! Will she still ‘save the day’ in the end?

Bridgerton season 4 part 1 drops on Netflix on Thursday, Jan. 29.
