After an emotional and tense episode of Outlander, eyes are on the next part of the story. It looks like we’ll return to the battlefield very soon. Here’s a look at what to expect in Outlander season 7, episode 14.
Both the promo and synopsis are out for the new episode. They give us a look at some of the big storylines to come, and it looks like there is a lot of focus on Claire and Jamie, Brianna, and William. There will also be a chance to catch up on where Lord John Grey is right now, but it looks like we won’t check in with Roger and Buck after that bittersweet moment in the previous episode.
Take a look at the promo and synopsis for Outlander season 7, episode 14 to get an idea of what to expect, and then we’ll break it all down:
"The truth about Lord John Grey's mysterious disappearance is revealed; Brianna faces off with the foes threatening her family."
The creation of the American flag
We knew that the American flag would need to be raised at some point. There have been moments of the flat with 13 stars, and we’ll get to see the creation of one of them in the episode. Claire talks about how important a country’s flag is.
I love seeing the original flag in all its glory. This marked the 13 colonies that originally made up the country, and it has since grown over time. Having that reminder of how far America has come is important, especially with social tensions the way they are right now.
Young Ian heads out as a scout
Young Ian shared with Rachel that he wouldn’t hurt someone unless he had to. The words Denny had said about Rachel having to forgo her idea of no violence sat with him a lot. However, it looks like he may not have a choice but to do violence to protect himself.
Young Ian is sent out as a scout. He’ll find a British camp, and we see him watching things through a telescope. Who will he come across? We know Lord John Grey and Young Ian eventually come across each other, but will this be that moment?
Lord John Grey’s disappearance is noted
So far, few people are all that concerned about Lord John Grey’s whereabouts. Jamie knows that he was taken by the Americans, and Denny knows that John was able to escape but that he’s not made it back to Chestnut Street. It was only a matter of time before others would learn of his disappearance.
Who will find out, and what will happen? Is this connected to William and Captain Richardson’s scenes.
William is sent on another mission
Captain Richardson will be back, and he has a mission for William. It’s not clear what that is just yet, but it sounds like a big one. The last mission William went on he didn’t complete. He ended up injured and nearly had his arm amputated. He also learned that Richardson’s messages were for Rebels.
We now know that Richardson is a Rebel and a spy. Is this something William will find out in the new episode, or is Richardson sending William out on a fool’s errand to get him out of the way?
Brianna will do what it takes to protect her family
Meanwhile, we’ll get some time in 1980. Bree has got her children to safety, and now she needs to head back to Lallybroch. She isn’t going to let Rob Cameron and his friends get away with the terror they’ve caused. If the police won’t do anything, she’ll take matters into her own hands.
If she was in 1778, of course, she’d get away with protecting her home like this. Will she end up in some sort of trouble in 1980, or will she make it clear that her family is not to be messed with?
Outlander airs on Fridays on STARZ.
