We left Claire on death’s door in the previous episode, but the Outlander season 7 finale quickly brought us good news. That led to some excellent moments for our lead female character.

Claire decided not to die. It was a moment brought straight from the books, as Jamie was relieved to see that his wife had made it through the surgery. That meant for some excellent moments throughout the finale, including seeing Lord John Grey again and helping Frances with her grief.

What were Claire’s top moments from the Outlander season 7 finale? At claireandjamie.com, we take a look at that in this post.

Needing to see her urine

I just love how Claire is still always a doctor. It doesn’t matter what is going on; she needs to be able to treat whatever is happening. We saw her after almost dying in Outlander season 6 that she doesn’t make the best of patients.

This episode saw her need to see her urine. She noted how bad her kidney felt, and that meant she was worried about some serious damage. It would have been deadly for her if there was an issue, so she needed to set her mind at ease. This was one of my favorite Jamie moments because he immediately jumped in with a candle for her, but I also love how Claire was willing to wait until daylight to see, even though she wouldn’t have been able to sleep!

Praising Denny for his work

Claire makes a good teacher. She doesn’t just share her knowledge, but she also helps to shape the surgeons of the future. When there is praise needed, she is sure to give it, and that’s what she does in the Outlander season 7 finale.

Claire is honest and kind with Denny. When he comes to her to share how scary it was to operate on a loved one, Claire is honest in that she hasn’t had to perform surgery to heal those she loves. She also makes it clear to him that she is proud of the surgical work that he did do. You could tell that Denny needed to hear this praise, and so could Claire in that moment. They have become a family.

The shock of hearing the song

At the end of the episode, Claire and Jamie are packing up to return home. She hears Frances singing a song in the church, and it sends shivers down her spine. Frances is singing a song that she couldn’t know if she was from 1778.

This opens up a huge twist to the story. I adore the way Claire puts it all together. At first, she was willing to brush off the idea of Faith being her and Jamie’s daughter. However, at the end, she can’t avoid it any longer. But, she doesn’t tell Jamie that Faith definitely survived. It’s an “I think,” and it means they’re all questioning everything!
