Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

The chapter seems to foreshadow that there are some financial problems on the way. I don’t remember this being a major issue by the end of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, but there is still a 10th book. There were a lot of storylines left on a cliffhanger at the end of the ninth book. It didn’t feel as complete as previous books.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I don’t think we’ll see the chapter used in the TV series. I would love to see Jamie learn all about a pessary, but I can’t see the show including it. Well, I’m in two minds. If it wasn’t for the last season only having 10 episodes, I’d say that we could see it and allow Jamie to learn more about medical practices. However, the 10 episodes with so many characters to focus on is going to make it difficult to fit everything in.

As for the financial problems and the lack of whiskey, we haven’t had the whiskey as a focus of their money in the TV series. I wonder if it will even need to come up. If it does, it’s likely just to be a voiceover mention or something in passion while the two talk.
