The Gilded Age Season 2 will premiere this week, and you’ll want to watch episodes immediately. Is this a show to watch around the kids?

Get ready for another historical fiction series to check out. The Gilded Age Season 2 premieres on HBO on Sunday, Oct. 29. Just like other HBO shows, the episodes will air on the linear channel and will then be available to stream on Max.

Of course, you’ll want to watch the episodes right away. So, do you need to get the kids into bed early? Is this a show that you can watch around them? What is the age rating for the show?

The Gilded Age Season 2 age rating

As a HBO show, you probably have an idea of what the official age rating is going to be. Yes, The Gilded Age has a TV-MA rating. That means it’s suitable for 18 and over.

It took some time in the first season to really understand the 18+ age rating. It was only in Episode 4 when the nudity and sexual scenes were shown, so you would be forgiven if you started to get a little lax about it. We’re sure to see that all ramp up in the second season as the show makes it clear that this is more than just the politeness of the people of the time.

The rating is linked to the sexual scenes and nudity. When it comes to violence and gore, there hasn’t been all that much shown. Of course, we could see something in the second season, so it’s worth keeping that in mind.

You’ll know your children the best. You may think your 16 or 17-year-old will be able to cope with the show. Maybe they watch similar shows to this one. I always think it wise to watch the episode first and then you can decide based on what you know about your children.
