Lessons in Chemistry airs Fridays on Apple TV+, and you likely want to watch new episodes as soon as they air. Is this something to watch with kids around?
Streaming shows tend to release at midnight PT at the latest on the day of the release. That means they’re available to stream throughout the day, and you certainly want to check them out right away. If you don’t, there is always someone on social media who will ruin things for you.
Lessons in Chemistry is an excellent series already. It brings us a look at the life of a smart woman in the 1950s and 1960s. Elizabeth Zott knows that she faces sex discrimination, but she finds someone who sees her for the brilliant mind she has. And then she goes on to host a popular cooking show that gives her a chance to teach women far more than just how to make the perfect dish for their families.
Lessons in Chemistry age rating
Before you put a show on, you need to make sure it’s suitable for the children in the house. Otherwise, you need to wait for them to go to bed. What about this one?
Well, the series is officially rated TV-MA, which means that it is for 18 and over. I will say that older teens may appreciate the show. There are some shocking moments but they’re not overly graphic and gorey. They’re something I’d expect those 16 to 18 have already seen on TV. There isn’t even a lot of nudity and language that would usually warrant a TV-MA rating.
You’ll want to make a decision for your own children, though. I always recommend watching the first couple of episodes of a new series yourself. That way, you can get an idea of what to expect in the show and see if it is suitable for your children.
