Aaron Mahnke has another podcast to check out, and it’s perfect for Droughtlander. Take a listen to That’s Just Weird by Aaron Mahnke.

I will admit that Aaron Mahnke is one of my favorite podcasters right now. He has been for a long time, ever since I found Lore on Stitcher (when that was still running!). Now, I will listen to any of the podcasts that he produces, and his latest one is called That’s Just Weird.

If you want something that is a relatively short listen, this is for you. I get through two episodes as I’m walking the dogs, but I tend to now listen to it when I’m folding laundry on a weekend. Otherwise, I end up pulling funny faces while I walk and I think my neighbors may think I’m weird doing that. It suits the podcast, though!

What is That’s Just Weird by Aaron Mahnke about?

The podcast title gives it away. There are a lot of weird things that happen in the world. Some of them are in news reports now, while others happened in the past. Mahnke looks at all of them, and he brings us stories in each of his episodes.

There is a look at the beard tax in Russia, and even the story of a Swiss couple that went missing for 75 years and how their bodies were finally found. How about what actually happened to the Tower of Pisa, which wasn’t supposed to lean? What happened to it?

Each episode is around 20 minutes long.

Why listen to That’s Just Weird during Droughtlander?

What makes this podcast great for Outlander fans? Well, there is the historical connection. There are stories from the past. Some of them involve famous people or events, while others are just about everyday people doing what started out as everyday things.

There’s also the storytelling. We all love storytelling as fans of Claire and Jamie’s story, and that’s what you get in That’s Just Weird. Mahnke has a way with narrating a story, whether it’s about the weirdness of the Great Train Robbery or it’s about Elizabeth Bathory in a Lore episode. That’s Just Weird offers the storytelling in 20-minute bites, perfect for some commutes to work.

We also know that there are some weird things that happen in Outlander. Well, it’s time to learn some more weirdness, whether it’s stories from today or the past.

That’s Just Weird by Aaron Mahnke is available wherever you get your podcasts.
