Could Outlander work Book 10 into a movie?
Outlander is coming to an end with Season 8, which is set to cover the Book 9 storyline. Could we see a movie to cover the 10th book?
One thing we know is that Outlander Season 8 is not going to end the story in the way Diana Gabaldon will. By the time the writers are able to get back to work, the 10th book of the story will not be finished. Matt B. Roberts, Maril Davis, and co. will need to wrap up the story in a way that serves their telling of it well.
With the seventh season covering much of Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, it means that the eighth season is set to cover the storylines in Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone. This book doesn’t end in a way that would wrap up storylines, but there is a chance that the writers could find a way to bring storylines to a conclusion for the series.
But what if there was more time? What if there could be an Outlander movie to wrap things up.
Could an Outlander movie happen to wrap up the stories?
When talking to Radio Times, Maril Davis discussed the idea of a movie. It turns out that she would be up for doing it. Of course, she’s not the only one who would need to be ready for a movie to happen. STARZ and Sony would need to be on board as well as all the key players involved in the series.
Davis also shared that it would depend on the storylines in the 10th book. If they were somewhat covered in the show’s version of the ending, it wouldn’t make sense to bring about a movie.
It could take years for the 10th book to be complete, though. By then, the actors will have moved onto other projects and schedules may clash too much to get them all back together. At least we know Davis is up for it.
