Foreshadowing in the Outlander chapter

This chapter foreshadows a couple of things, and the first is that William will return. However, it’s not going to be for the same reasons as Jamie thinks. He just knows that his son will be back.

The other bit is that this isn’t the last we’ve seen of Mrs. Cunningham. Get ready for her to turn up again, but I think the Frasers pointing out that she isn’t the Wicked Witch is foreshadowing that this woman actually turns out to be some help.

Adapting the Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone chapter

I’m not too sure if the chapter will be adapted. I’d love to see Jamie talking about the privy seat he’s made and about William, but it’s the bit with Mrs. Cunningham that I’m not too sure about. I know the Cunninghams come up again in the book, and they could have a big enough part to be in the show. However, we may see that Captain Cunningham is the only one needed for the series rather than his mother.

There are only 10 episodes in Outlander Season 8. That’s not a lot of time to adapt the whole of Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone, and there are some bigger parts of the story that will need to be adapted instead. So, I remain in two minds about this chapter being used.
