Will Claire and Jamie remain in Scotland in Outlander?
Claire, Jamie, and Young Ian have finally made it to Scotland in Outlander Season 7. Is that where they’ll stay, or will they return to Fraser’s Ridge?
Since the third episode of Outlander Season 7, Claire and Jamie planned to go back to Scotland. Jamie needed to keep his promise to Jenny to get Young Ian back home. Well, America has become home for Young Ian now, but he does need to return to see his family at least once.
It doesn’t look like Ian is planning on remaining in Scotland. He left Rollo with Rachel, two in his life he misses. In fact, he’s made it clear that he misses Rollo a lot. So, he’ll likely want to get back to the place he calls home as soon as he can.
What about Claire and Jamie, though? Could they end up remaining in Scotland, or will they head back to the Colonies at some point?
Are Claire and Jamie going to stay in Scotland in Outlander?
We could look at the books for how the storyline plays out. If you haven’t read the books yet, you may not want those spoilers. We get that! That’s why this post is going to remain focused on clues in the series that tell us what Claire and Jamie could do next.
It’s highly unlikely that Claire and Jamie will remain in Scotland. That isn’t their home anymore. They’ve made their home at Fraser’s Ridge.
We just have to look at how tearful Claire was as they left Fraser’s Ridge. It came at a time when Bree and Roger left them through the stones and the Big House burned down. However, it wasn’t just that. There was this fear that they wouldn’t return.
Yet, Jamie clearly has plans to come back. He was planning on building the new house as he shared the plan to go to Scotland. If he was planning on remaining in Scotland, why would he plan the location for the new house? Jamie also has tenants to look after. He takes his position as laird seriously, and he’ll want to get back home. He only left others in charge temporarily.
As much as we love the storylines in Scotland, the ones in North Carolina have helped Claire and Jamie grow as people. We’re sure to see them return at some point.
